White Noise & Pink Noise
White Noise
White noise refers to a noise that contains all frequencies (20 Hz to 20,000 Hz) across the spectrum of audible sound in equal measure.
Pink Noise
Unlike white noise which represents all the frequencies equally, the higher frequencies in pink noise are less intense. Pink noise still has all audible sounds, but the lower frequencies are amplified and the higher frequencies are diminished.
Since they are "gentler," your ears are less likely to get overwhelmed by them. The calming lower frequencies can make pink noise sound more soothing
Out of all the Noise Generators available on the net, the "Noise Generator" web app built by Jonas Wagner is my favourite.
